Collection: TROPICAL TREE

Tropical Tree

Some tropical plants are just a bit too full-scale to fit onto a windowsill—but that’s why we have living rooms, foyers, sun rooms … and of course, yards. What better way to fill those larger living spaces than with tropical trees? Their lush foliage, brightly colored flowers, mouth-watering fruit, and larger-than-life dimensions give them an unparalleled ability to make any spot feel a little more wild and exotic.

Tropical trees are native to every corner of the world, from Madagascar to Brazil to Thailand, and cover a wide range of plant families. From the beautiful greenery of palm trees and tree ferns to the unmatched flavor of fruits such as mangoes, bananas, and citrus trees, once you experience a touch of the tropics right there in your own home or yard, you’ll never want to be without it.

Tropical Trees - beautiful tropical plants for indoors and outdoors

You know their leaves, flowers, and fruit are out of this world—but what about their size? Don’t worry.

If you have a big space and want a big, bold, larger-than-life tropical tree to fill it, that’s easily done. Tropical trees are more than up to the task.

On the other hand, if you don’t have a ton of space, don’t mustn’t let the word “tree” scare you away. Plenty of tropical trees have entirely manageable sizes. Most palm trees grow slowly, so you can enjoy them for years, possibly decades before size becomes a concern. Many dwarf citrus trees are ideal for large floor pots or patio planters. Still other species can be pruned to size whenever things get too unwieldy.

At the end of the day, if you want a tropical tree, there’s a very good chance you’ll be able to find one that fits the space you have, large or small.

It's like having your own tropical plant nursery…

The specific care needs of tropical trees obviously vary from species to species, but as a whole, tropical trees are no more difficult to care for than any other tropical plant. In fact, they’re often easier, as their larger size means you have a larger margin of error when measuring things like water and fertilizer. True, tropical trees are often a bit more challenging to propagate than smaller plants—for instance, they tend to require air layering instead of simple stem cuttings. But you’ll probably also have less need to propagate them, so it tends to balance out.

Simply put, tropical trees can enhance the mood and feel of a space in ways no other design element can match. We think they’re awe-inspiring. But we hope that instead of taking our word for it, you’ll see for yourself. You deserve it.  < Show Less
